Bokmål (lit. "book language"), riksmål (lit. "national language") or Dano-Norwegian[4] is the more commonly used of the two Norwegian written standard languages, the other being Nynorsk. Bokmål/riksmål is used by around 90% of the population in Norway, regardless of dialect, and is the standard most commonly taught to foreign students of the Norwegian language.
